Welcome to Puhinui School
Puhinui School is a vibrant and collaborative learning community with a clear focus on producing good citizens and future leaders who value learning in the 21st Century. Puhinui School is a Year 1 to Year 6 Primary school in Papatoetoe, Auckland, with approximately 600 students on the roll. Puhinui School reflects its ethnically diverse community, many of whom have a first language other than English. The school prides itself on interacting well with parents and caregivers, and the wider community. Puhinui School has an inclusive tone and a clear focus on improving outcomes for students. Important core values are community, integrity, opportunity, resilience, and respect. The school motto is 'Others before Self' and this is reflected in the students' respect and care for others. Students have a sense of belonging in the school, and contribute to a positive learning environment. The school is well resourced, offering practical approaches to learning in science, technology and the performing arts, whilst providing a range of excellent programmes in numeracy and literacy. Staff are dedicated and caring, and students make good progress to achieve well. Our students are motivated and engaged learners who think about how to learn, build on their achievements, and are well supported in their learning.
